God's Gift To Me...

Written right after the birth of my first child. A girl.

God's gift to me
Was little Jacki
All five pounds of she
Belongs to me.

A 5lb 6oz. girl

She's a shining light
That seems so bight.
Her daddy's so proud
He's on the ninth cloud.

Pass out the cigars!

God's precious gift
Sure gave us a lift,
With her daddy's eyes
She'll win every prize.

Beautiful big blue eyes.

And as good as she be,
God, I sure thank thee.
A precious gift she made,
my daughter, Jacki Jade.

She was the best baby, slept all the time.

Written 30 years later:

Now she's a woman grown
With five children of her own.
She no longer belongs to me,
But that's okay, you see,

As she belongs to the Savior
Because of her faithful behavior.
She's still a shining light,
Now, for her family, day and night.

A Happy family they are.

Her daddy's still proud
Though he doesn't say it aloud.
God's precious gift became five
Her house is like a busy beehive.

Wonderful Lord, how I praise Thee
For the beautiful grandchildren you gave me
Through my precious gift that doesn't fade
The daughter I named, Jacki Jade.
By Gidget

Daughters are such a blessing.
