Bow Down

It's that time of year again.
For snow and Christmas trees.
But this year all I think about
Is Jesus on his knees.

Such a rare and wonderful gift.
You sent this time of year
To hold us and embrace us
And give us cause to cheer.

If he, your best creation
Gets down on knees to pray
Why don't we do the same for you?
When praying every day.

Do we think that when he died for us
To save us from all harm,
That getting down on knees to pray
Had lost it's grace and charm?

And if we can't bow down to pray
Because we're just to proud
Then why should you lay claim to us
And pick us from the crowd.

If this is what my knees are for,
And what He did for thee,
I'll bow down morning, noon and night
And do it gleefully.
